Power Spring Working Turns and Reserved Rotation
Define assembly setting, usable travel and prohibited end regions separately. Total possible winding is not a safe working-turn specification.

Check contact location, retention and local geometry under the approved winding conditions. The arbor slot and spring end form one load-carrying interface.
The lowest usable return torque must exceed the actual assembly resistance at the relevant end position, with the project’s required margin.
State the reference assembly position, winding direction, preload turns and resulting torque. A turn count alone does not prove the required output.
Record spring output, lubricant behavior and bearing or seal resistance separately where possible. An assembly torque change can have several causes.
A counterweight can offset part of the load, leaving the spring to address a residual requirement. Compare the combined load curve rather than simply adding.
